AMD Triple-core issues?

I just built a system which has the AMD Phenom 8400 Triple-core processor. With all the expertise on here, has anyone that either has or have used one of these processors ever experienced any major issues?

The only issue you are likely to experience is that the first generation phenoms were a bit more power hungry and it may run a bit hot especially if you try to OC without upgrading the cooler, but a good aftermarket cooler like a Hyper 212+ will fix that problem. There is no reason the CPU should be unstable/faulty, AMD wouldnt have sold it if it was known to be.

I had an original Phenom X3 CPU for a few months a while back and had no problems with it. I just didn't like having an odd number of cores, so I upgraded quicker than I normally would have.

Like said the 1st gen Phenom was a pig and ran hot thats why you dont see many around.

To "hunter315"...no issues at all and never had a AMD processor before...always went with Intel so there isn't any "hidden agenda" with my questions. I thank you for your response, though. To both "Leaps from Shadows" and "Saaiello"...thanks also for your comments. Much abliged to you all.

could have gone with Phenom IIs

I agree... I can't believe those chips are still being sold. With the Athlon II / Phenom II now being available, the older generation should have gone straight to the rubbish bin.
