Corsair HX 750w or 850w, also practically free AX750 upgrade?

I read this in the sticky

but not 100% if it covers what I need.

I plan on having a p67 mobo/i5 2500k(once they are being sold again), 2 7200rpm 1Tb HDs, 2 sticks of 4gig ddr3, 2 gtx560 Ti, 4 case fans and eventually OCing the cpu/videocard. Would the corsair hx750w be enough or would I need the 850w. Also taking into account that the psu should be operating at 50-80% load for max efficiency or so I've read.

    The HX750 would be fine it's very efficient and can produce 910W at 46C.
    I currently run one on a P55 i7 860 platform with a single 5850.
    Ample room to add another 5850 or just about any other gear.

    You won't regret buying either HX unit they're excellent.

    Dadiggle could you tell me which of those cards would be the most similar to the 560Ti? I saw the same chart in another thread and used the gtx470 as a reference, it was actually one of the reasons I thought I needed an 850w psu but I'm not sure if that was the right choice since I only picked it because of similar price points.
  6. You could get away with as little as an Antec TP-650 with two 560 Ti's but of planning to OC, I'd go 750 watter. The best choice at this point is the XFX Black Edition 750 for $100 or the XFX Black Edition 850 for $110. The Black Edition, Antec SG and CP series, Corsair HX series and Seasonic X series all get 10.0 performance ratings on jonnyguru.com. But right now the XFX has the best pricing.

    Given the equal electrical performance, again, the obvious choice is the XFX Black Edition in the 750 watt size. At 850 watts, the Antec CP-850 would be worth the extra $10 due to its superior acoustical performance but its CPX form factor requires a compatible Antec case.

    Unless you have an Antec 1200, DF-85, P182 or P193, I'd go with the 850 watt XFX model for the extra headroom since price is so close to that of the 750. The 850 watter is good for twin 570's ... you'll need bigger for twin 580's.
