Noob need help connecting pc to hdtv

hey everyone, I'm relatively new to computers and I was wondering that if I connected my pc to my 48" hdtv (its 1080i if it matters), what would I need other than a HDMI cable? Also another question, I have a XFX 5770 1GB would this gpu give me good fps in games like starcraft 2 if I were to play it on my hdtv?
