How to see what cpu is compatable with your computer

Hi. I have a biostar m7vig 400 and I want to see if it will support AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition Dual Core Processor.

Go to biostar's website and look up your motherboard. Then look for what chips it can run along with what BIOS is needed to run it if possible.

Thats a really old system. The cpu is a Socket A (Socket 462). You cant put the 7850 on that mobo(its a socket am2+). It's time for a new pc. If you get a new system get an Am3 motherboard with an athlon x2 250 3ghz dual core and some ddr3 1333 memory(if your on a buget)

An Athlon X2 7850 is NOT compatible with the Biostar M7VIG400. As mentioned, that is a previous generation motherboard and is end of life and out of production. Fact is, you will be lucky to find a compatible processor on the used market for that motherboard.
