Hellooo tomsarmy!

Well this is my projected build, and I'm hoping someone can give it a once over. I did enough research I don't think I left any bleeding holes in the plot, but if there's anything that is just flat out not compatible, please let me know. Also, I've read that the power supply is a key component, because it's failure can really contribute to the failure of a lot of other parts. As of now I haven't chosen a psu, so any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

PSU????
Newegg.com's psu finder suggests that I'll need just under 650 watts

The plan is to use her for audio recording/editing, but it would be nice to run games like FSX and Fallout New Vegas at high quality. She's gotta last me a while too, may someday expand to tv tuners, wireless, sound card.

Feels good to get a parts list out there, been working on this for a month

Dont get a GTX 465, its hotter and slower than the GTX 460, you can pick up an EVGA one for the same price before the promo code and with the same $20 MIR

Dont get 6 GB of ram, you wont need more than 4GB for gaming and using three sticks of ram will force you into single channel and hurt your performance far more than the extra 2GB will help.

For a single GTX 460 a good 500-550W unit will be plenty, your board does not support SLI so there isnt a reason to plan that far ahead. I suggest the seasonic S12II 520W unit.

Would a GTS 400 perform equally adequately? Some friends have told me the GTS would suffice. Will remove the extra 2gb ram.

For a monitor of that size and resolution, i would stick with the GTX 460, while a GTS 450 would still perform pretty well, a GTX 460 is quite a bit stronger and will make a notable difference at that resolution.
