I purchased an ASUS CG8350-04 desktop computer with the new Intel i7-2600 processor in it online from Bestbuy on 1/25/2011. I received an email from them saying my computer was ready for pickup so I went on 2/3/2011 to get it. When I did, I was told by the service manager that they had to ship all of the computers they had with the i7-2600 processor back to the manufacturers because the i-7 processor was faulty. They refunded my money and told me to order another one in the future when they become available again.
Today I noticed that they removed all computers from their website that had the i7, including a Gateway, Dell and Lenovo. I didn't check other computer retailers.
Has anyone heard about problems with this processor? I did a cursory search on the internet but came up empty.
