Well, pics first of cpu-z and easytune6

As you can see it's stepping C3, with a stock vcore of 1.376.

Right now I'm using a 5850 ATI and on games like Metro 2033 the GPU usage is about 99% most of the time and on any other game between 40-99%. (On games like Dead Space it's giving me 200 fps everything maxed 1920x1080.

I did an RMA on a 570 gtx I'm getting tomorrow...would my 965 bottleneck it? If so, I would want it to raise it to 3.6 ghz max for a stable 24/7.

I have never done CPU overclock in the past(only GPU but meh). So what should I do...increase the Multiplier or the Bus Speed?

Motherboard is Gigabyte 890XA-UD3(chipset 790). You guys might say why did I buy a Phenom II x4 965 BE and that Gigabyte mobo with all the upcoming stuff? Because I bought it for $220, cheap I believe. And I had a 5 year old processor.

cheers!

So ... what's the question, here?

If you feel your PhII 965 is holding back your video card (is it an HD5850 or a GTX 570?) check out the THG AMD forum for over-clocking tips. See Ryan's OC stickie.

EasyTune is Packer-like Girlly Stuff --- check out The Manly Steeler-Like AMD OverDrive - 'AOD', and, read and understand your motherboard manual BIOS references/settings.

Dude ... an 890XA-UD3 with a PhII 965 is a terrific gaming platform. :bounce: You should be waving that thang around like a proud peacock. Only comparable today would be the Asus M4A79XTD EVO 790X with a PhII 955 for $225'ish.

The question is, "Why are you not using an HD6950?"

If you bought a GTX 570 and can return it, do so. If you have an HD5850 you have two options: (1) buy a second HD5850 for $170; or (2) buy an HD6850 for $260 and sell the HD5850.

An HD5850 is a great card, and x2 will play great for quite a while -- the issue is it will soon be EOL. So if you want to CF you need to snag another one fast before they are all gone; BUT your best move is to pass the goodness of that HD5850 on, make a few bucks and invest in one of those new-fangled dual-BIOS HD6950 2GBs and Power-Tune yah a sweet spot.

As the HD6950 ages jump when you feel froggy - price will likely drop $80 over the next 10 months. An HD6950 CF is a 500w slobber-knocking gaming monster that is second to none. Can't get much more 'Enthusiast for the Money' than two modded HD6950s powered by a PhII 965 on a 890XA-UD3.

Forget this nonsense about the Phenom 965BE holding you back. Figure out your graphics, first, and then folks will help you tweak that sucker to a cool & quiet 3.8GHz+. That should be quite snappy

And remember: AMD4Life :: SB4Wife

Wow very nice answer, thanks for taking your time answering it.

Well right now I got installed the 5850 MSI Twin frozr II.

And I did an RMA on a 570 gtx, recieving it today or monday.

My power supply is an OCZ 700 watts 80% efficiency Stealth x stream , never had a problem about my PC shuting down.

Ok I will check out the AMD overdrive and leave the easy tune to a side.

So...do you recomend me to sell the 570 gtx and get another 5850? Good news to me are that today my mother told me we are going to U.S.A. again in April, so I could get another 5850.

Also the other good news to me is that I bought the 570 gtx new for $350 (EVGA brand) and here in mexico it's sold for $480....so I could sell it fast for $400.

I just hope the power supply supports the 2 5850's.

Now that I'm thinking...I could sell the 570 gtx like right now AND sell the 5850 just before I go to the U.S.A. so I get a couple of 6950's perhaps. Because after April this year im not going to the U.S.A. again till June 2012. So I must pack myself good. The local store I visit is CompUSA and they have all the videocards and like in 5 different models each one.
