Hi guys, Please be patient as I ask for some ideas. I have been putting together a system and I hope you dont think it is dodgy or wasting your time. Here goes:

Motherboard - ASUS P7P55D-E PRO
CPU - i7 870
CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-U12P SE2
Case - Antec Nine Hundred Two
RAM - Corsair CMT4GX3M2A2000C8 4GB (2x2) DDR3
PSU - Corsair TX-650
GPU - Asus GeForce GTS 450 Direct CU 1GB
HHD - 2 x WD Cavier black 1TB WD1002TAEX
ODR - Pioneer DDR-205 bluray Read/Writer
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium

All these parts are sourced from pccasegear.com.au From what i've read are pretty decent to deal with.
I am not really a gamer but that might have something to do with my previous limited computer. At the moment I want a computer that will jump when asked! Multitasking, HTPC, CAD, Video encoding, and all the normal stuff like surfing, email etc.
I have a feeling maybe the system is overkill. But I want it to last 5years with out going out of date.
Anyway please give me your suggestions, it will be appreciated.
Thanks

Not only overkill - outdated double quick time @@

LGA 1156 shall be usurped by LGA 1155 as soon as end of this year/possible Q1 next year if u intending to sink a wee bit on chip + board FYI.. with no backwards/forwards compatibility

Ok so what you saying is either wait untill new LGA1155 comes out next year, or back right off thus reducing $$ and upgrade in 2 years rather than say 5?
