Well I have a :
Intel E7500 core 2 duo 2.93Ghz
Intel G41 express chipset
Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L motherboard
2gb ram
640gb +80gb hdd seagate.
And a 450 watts Generic SMPS to be more specific the company name is Tech-Com

I am planning to buy a Nvidia 9600GT as it fits into my budget, well do I need to get myself a new SMPS or will the current one suffice?

Looks from the brand you are from India. Am i correct?

About the PSU, hell yes. Get a CX400W and be happy. 2600 INR.

450W Generic SMPS is enough to power 9600GT without problem...

GT240 is about the same performance with 9600GT...
So yes, your PSU is enough to run that card...
