Hello,
i bought everything new. asus crosshair mobo and a 1090t. put the cpu on the mobo and then the fan on top of the cpu. I was told the paste was already on the cpu. long story short i hook it up the psu and in the area i believe it was cpu there was a spark and then smoke started occuring. of course. i pull the plug, take the fan off and attached to the bottom of the fan is the cpu. Put everything back and then everything work and installed the OS. Is there a need to send all the parts back?

actually there was no looks of anything to be burned or anything. For this being my first computer build by myself it really bummed me out making me believe i fucked up. I decided to return the cpu and mobo to amazon anyways just to make sure everything works properly anyways. Is there anyway to test your cpu and mobo to make sure everything works properly on it?
