Can't wait till april for sandy bridge so what to buy now?

it would have been very helpful if u could give some description why these products?.I mean why not i7 950, or i7 860 or AMD’s Bulldozer etc...i mean it would easy for me to decide though i respect what u have chosen must be good and i thank u for searching for it.

Why the desperation and not being able to wait for corrected SB motherboards or even AMD's upcoming Bulldozer?
You have seen the benchmarks for SB what's a couple of months for a wait.

Well with your budget CPU mobo and RAM you can not afford an I7 rig so that is probobly the reason he did not suggest it.

As a general rule for socket 1366 you are looking at the very least $200 for a motherboard and $300 for an I7 so as you probably already knew its out of your budget. For $500 you are looking at an I5 760 rig and IMO is not worth the upgrade from your current system. You should just OC your Q8200 to 3.1 GHZ which is about its max OC and just wait it out til sandy bridge becomes available again and who knows maybe just maybe Bulldozer will kick ass and be cheap too so I would just hold out for a month or two.

Cuz my current rig which is q8200 is not giving full performance with Crossfire 8200.So right now i have to use single gpu to get right fps ...with single hd6950 i am getting above 60-70 fps and with crossfire i am getting 30-40 and that is on single monitor.

So OC it and see how it is you have a dam good mobo to OC on I got a Q8200 running stable at 3.24GHZ on 1.3625 volts on that exact same motherboard it just take some time tweaking it but it can be done.

As somebody stated above budget reasons! If you are dead set on LGA1366 we can recommend some as well. I personally would wait for Sandy Bridge though!

You got to be good for at least 12 months running the 2x6950 GPUs at minimal Powertune. When you feel froggy in 12 months, crank those suckers 20%+.

By next summer - 18 months - you can buy a 1.3v 1110T hex-core Thuban for $150 and run x6 at 4.2GHz disabled Turbo.

You will blow past three years without breaking a sweat [:jaydeejohn:5]

You do realize he already has the two 6950's?

Why is it that people never read OPs post these days but just start posting stuff like an Athlon X3 lol. The OP was thinking about a sandy bridge and you suggest an Athlon II?

O.K. you're a gamer so unless you're making money as a developer or need it desperately for work I just can't see wasting money on something that you will regret later on (feeling sad about not having a much beefier system for just a couple of months wait).
