5770 driver issue?

i recently bought a 5770 sapphire non vapor but i played cod 4 for 2 days it worked fine at the end i experienced an artifact wich was resolved but now my fps in assasins creed 1 is 40 ish it was avg 90 whats up is it a driver issue or is the card heating up too much? plus if i open a utube vid the clocks get bumped from idle to 400/900 mhz and gets stuck there during games if i close it 157/300 MHz what gives?

I got the same issues when play Mass Effect 2 when running on 10.9, after half an hour artifacting occured.
What driver are you running currently?

iam guessing its a driver issue weird ac1 was working fine its like its been stuck at 60 fps in game menues and 40 in normal gameplay and iam only gaming at 1440x900 WTF????

cmon people iam starting lose faith in these forums no one seems to answer any of my questions

^ before you lose faith, lose that driver instead, i mean try another one. 10.8 or other previous versions.

nvm i forgot to turn of v sync everything is back to normal
