I have been having some crashing issues and found the root cause: When I have all four sticks of memory installed, the system loses stability and will crash under load. (Gaming, Prime95, etc)
I have tested the machine using memtest86+ and Prime95 in the following configurations with no issues:
Each 1x4GB individually
All in 2x4GB pairs
The system runs fine until I install all four sticks. My last attempt at fixing the issue was to set the DRAM voltage from 1.5V to 1.7V, but this did not solve my problem; I still crashed during Prime95. What other settings can I change in my BIOS in order to get the 16GB stable? Note that at the moment I do not have anything overclocked.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Here is my hardware and a screen cap to from CPU-Z, if that is helpful:
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
ASUS P8P67 (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67
CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
