Dell XPS L701X Won't recognize second HD

Found out that my Dell XPS had a second HD port so when I upgraded the ram I got a SSD that I figured I would just pop in.

Drive insertion went fine but when I start up windows it never installs the drive and it doesn't show up anywhere, including my BIOS. I've tried to reinsert the drive several times with no luck. The BIOS is set to ACHE currently. It almost seems like the second drive bay is disabled or something. I'm running windows 7.

This is the first time I've every installed/upgraded anything on a laptop to any help would be appreciated.

Ended up swapping my original drive to the second bay and putting the ssd into the 1st bay and it worked fine!
