Just ordered a 256gb Samsung 840 PRO, and I would like some advise as to the best way to configure it. This is my first SSD, and want to run it as efficiently as possible. I am an architecture student and use my computer for AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Photoshop, Gaming, and will be getting into Rhino.

Current Setup:

Windows 8 PRO 64bit
Intel i7-3770k @3.5 ghz
Asus P8P67 Evo
EVGA GTX 680 FTW+ 4GB
8GB 1600 ghz memory
Seagate 2TB 5400 rpm HDD (will get a faster one soon)
My HafX is maxed with fans so cooling isn't an issue.

Any tips would be greatly accepted.

The single most important thing is to perform a fresh installation of Windows.
Also, when you're setting up Windows, unplug your existing HDD. It would be a shame to accidentally format the wrong drive.
