This is the desired spec of my computer.

Intel Core i7 950 3.06Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Proccessor

G.Skill Ripjaw 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit - RAM

HIS ATI Radeon 5970 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - Retail -GPU

Whats your views on this build? I want to learn how to overclock hardware, and want a good gaming Pc,

Also, would i need extra cooling for this Build?

  1. With HD6k CF scaling great and incoming Cayman Pro/XT incoming i wouldn't sink into a HD 5970 these days and u dun need > 4GB RAM for a gaming rig really
  2. Yes, with the new ATI (or is it AMD now lol) GPUs coming soon, you'll want to hold out. Plus that much RAM is definitely overkill.
