How many lanes would the XFX 4gb Black 5970 take up??The reason I ask is the standard 5970 takes up 2 lanes.The Sapphire Toxic 4 gb 5970 takes up 3 lanes.I just wanted to be sure before I made the purchase.

Well, ok, maybe for 6 monitors the 4gb will be useful. But even 3 monitors 2gb would be enough. And if you're going all out on 6 monitors... well, that's cool. Good luck!

I was thinking of getting 2 thats why I wanted to know about how many lanes it would take up.I also wanted to make sure I could fit the Razer sound card.

^ You should search for 5970 in crossfire. Since it's technically quadfire, the scaling isn't all that great, but on top of that, many games seem to have issues with it. A better option would be 5970 + 5870, or just go with a pair of GTX 480s lol.

Also... more memory doesn't give more performance. It just gives more headroom to preload more textures as well as for AA, but even then 2gb is a lot.. supposedly with higher resolutions (like, more than 3 monitors) you can use up all that GPU space, just not normally. But since it appears money has no value to you, then by all means go big!

No way!! really any more than 3 monitors is not good.I mean performance suffers a bit.Especially with 6.I will just utilize 3 monitors. I am waiting for the Asus 27 inch 3d monitors to come out.I hope soon.

That makes sense.I was gonna use 3 of the 925 Mhz Sapphire 5870 2gb,or the XFX 5970's.The 5870s are about 700 dollars cheaper for almost the same performance and I hear that some games do not support 4way x fire.
