Memory Size quick question

This is what the detailed specs from MSI motherboard 945gzm3 says about "Main Memory"

Main Memory

• Supports two unbuffered DIMM of 1.8 Volt DDRII DRAM
• Supports up to 2GB memory size.
• Supports dual channel DDRII memory architecture.
• Supports DDRII 400/533 memory interface.

What does "up to 2GB memory size" is supposed to mean:
- Each module can be as much as 2gb each....
or
- As much as 2gb can be used in this mobo...

It means it can support 2GB RAM TOTAL, which means two 1GB sticks.
