Hello,
Below is my proposed build. I would appreciate any advice. Particularly where you think I might be overshooting a budget computer or where a few extra dollars would make a big difference.
Approximate Purchase Date: within the month.
Budget Range: 600-800 (counting windows, not counting peripherals like monitor (which I need and plan on a HD monitor), keyboard, mouse)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: web and e-mail, office applications, video and media
Parts Not Required: I need it all but am not seeking guidance on peripherals like monitor, mouse or keyboard.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com or amazon.com
Country of Origin: United States
Parts Preferences: Here's what I have picked so far.
Case - Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply - $112
Mobo - ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - $100
CPU - AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor ADX640WFGMBOX - $100
memory: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL8D-4GBHK - $70
HDD - Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKB 500GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - $80
Overclocking: Maybe. More likely eventually.
SLI or Crossfire: No
Monitor Resolution: Unsure, have not researched monitors yet. Will go with HD.
Additional Comments: I am generally looking for a budget pc that spends money in the right places. A slightly better performance now, with room to upgrade in the future without gutting it and starting over. I did not forget a graphics card. In reality, I plan on using it for video clips right now more than video, and was hoping that I could upgrade in the future, but that I can upgrade with a graphics card in the future.
