P67 - adding memory

Currently my MSI p67 has 2x2gb G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-10666CL8D.

If I use two more of these sticks to fill the emtpy ram slots on my motherboard, am I forced to reformat my pc to have them recognized? What are the steps to adding memory to an existing system? Thanks.

Absolutely not. All you have to do is plug in the sticks of RAM. You do not have to reformat your PC or reinstall your operating system.

Just plug them in with the machine off! It is plug and play, safest bet is to get exactly the same modules to avoid problems.

Do you atleast need to go into Advanced system settings...performance settings...advanced...''change virtual memory''?
