    While Amd/Nvidia make things difficult.
  8. +1.... dude I am doing this on like all ym replies.... hey saves me time =p

    965
do some more research, 965 stink for OCing, they cost to much for the boost from the 955...
  12. 965 is only a 955 with a higher clock speed. stock cooling would let you OC to 3.5 if you wanted too with a 955.

The i5 performs better than any AMD Quad Core no matter what way you put it %%

Not really, but whatever.... it IS close though...

    not really

Really? Please show me proof of an AMD CPU with Nvidia GPU's in SLI with updated drivers working.
    I'll Wait.

    no its not

a 125 watt 965 is a later stepping , runs on lower voltage and overclocks a couple of hundred MHz higher . You can expect over 4 GHz from one of these with a good cooler
Many application suit benchmarks put the 965 ahead of the i5 750 , and for gaming where graphics processing power is more important then its often better to save money on a processor/mb and spend it on a better graphics card

    not talking about SLI..
even though I have used hacked drivers before in SLI for crossfire board.

Thats my point, out of the box you can't just run it. you'd have to start hacking.

you just said you hacked it.

+1 but the 6870 is fine and later down the line if his gpu became a problem he could always pop another one in since they scale amazingly well.

be nice now.... lol I'm one to talk ^^
  25. For a budget of $1000 Amd will be better, save money from CPU and use it on GPU
For gaming theres really not a big difference, you will not be sorry if you chose I5 or 965
  26. ^^ yeah
  27. If you look at it, half this thread is just arguing.

You've posted that same build in like 10 different threads.
do you recommend any other set of parts?
Theres no reason for an overpriced Mobo.
  30. Quote:
    I've noticed that too.
and the overpriced mobo is not the only issue.. lol

yeah i know that, but usually in a "budget" build you don't use that type of mobo,
    know what i mean?
  31. Quote:

lol you don't use people who spam post's builds either....
