I have approx $500 to spend for more equipment ( I was thinking of possibly a ssd for the os). The monitor will be replaced with a 27 or 32inch LCD Tv Screen not included on the price. This pc is mostly used for watching movies and television with minor games (my nephew plays Halo and Halo CE on it). I have Nero 2010,Microsoft Office 2010,AutoDesk 2011,ConvertXtoDvD,Google-Earth,TV-UPlayer just to name a few and also use Catalyst Media Center for Tv viewing. a total of 123 programs. Not to mention a few of these have conflicts with each other (who ever said xp programs will work with Windows 7). I also have two virtual drives.

Have you run any apps like CCleaner (piriform.com) to clean your registry or Malwarebytes (malwarebytes.org) to remove and malicious crud from your system? Also, how are you connected to the 'Net? Wired or wireless? Are you using DHCP or a fixed IP? DHCP can cause delays if your network is experiencing any issues.

I do use Malwarebytes,SpyBot Search n Destroy,SuperAntispyware not together but rather every other day as an example. I do use DHCP however my pc is slow not due to network it is just overall. Even when I disconnect and use the cad viewing it just bogs down (I had several different friends do research before I did the build and even they are stumped)
