SSD and External Hard Drive

Hello,
I purchased a Crucial M4 128gb SSD that I am going to put into my current laptop. I want to put the OS and a few key programs that I use on the SSD and then possibly use an external for all my media files if that is possible. Would cloning work for this? I do not have OS disc or else I would do a clean install. I am new to messing with hard drives and such so any help would be nice.

  1. Cloning to SSD is OK, but I will recommend do the clean reinstall the win7. The 1st link is for free cloning software, EaseUS Disk Copy Home Edition 2.3.1, the 2nd link is for how to clean install OEM win7. Also check out the 3rd link for Useful SSD Articles - Part 2.
