Crystal Disk Mark on new HDD shows slow 4K QD32 Write speeds. All my other HDD show write speeds comparable to QD32 Read speeds or the 4K Write speeds. Problem with all partitions (4) on new HDD, but with no partitions (3) on other 3 drives. Anyone know why this is?

Crystal DiskInfo says OK.
Paragon Alignment says OK.
Anvil Storage no longer works.

Once or twice I got a normal reading, but typically around that 0.245 reading below. It's in 6th SATA using a freebie red cable from n'egg. [?]

Thanks in advance.

All four partitions on the Toshiba respond the same, viz., slow 4kqd32 readings. No problems on any other drives, any of those partitions.

I ran ATTO on these and everything seems OK with Toshiba (Hitachi?). Faster than WDBlack?

Reminds me of what Cliff Stoll* said re Cukoo's Egg: Big screwups have simple solutions; the little problems uncover big surprises.

Wondering if anyone has seen this before with Crystal Disk, Toshiba/Hitachi, etc.

Interestingly, when I run all four tests, the last one, 4K QD32 runs super slow. As I then repeat ONLY that 4K QD32 test, the speed increases to 1.800 or thereabouts (e.g., 0.24, 0.70, 1.10, 1.45, et cetera).
