So i am buying a brand new computer, and i will be getting help assembling it, so no problems there, i just wanna make sure that i dont buy stuff, that arent compatible with each other, for example motherboard, and ram. I am not entirely sure if they fit each other.

Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145313
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128423&cm_re=Gigabyte_GA-X58A-UD3R-_-13-128-423-_-Product
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130590&cm_re=GTX_580-_-14-130-590-_-Product
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115211&cm_re=i7_950-_-19-115-211-_-Product
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139007&Tpk=Corsair%20HX%201000W%20PSU
CPU fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018
HD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136456&Tpk=WD%20Caviar%u00ae%20Black%202TB
SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233125

Is all of this compatible with each other, and do you think a 1000w power supply is overkill?

Also feel free to criticize if i could get something better for the same money.

This is alot of money, wanna make sure i make no mistakes.

Note: I wont be using Newegg, but a danish webshop.

Thanks alot.

1kW is definitely overkill.. You'd do fine with 850W, possibly even 750W. I'd go for 850 just to be on the safe side. As for compatibility, the mobo and the CPU fit together... But intel i7 uses triple channel rather than dual channel, you'll want to go for three sticks of RAM rather than two. I've got three sticks of corsair 1600 MHz in my case, and it's sufficient for pretty much everything. Presumably, for the SSD, you'll be putting your most essential programs on it, i.e. OS, photoshop (if you use it), etc. In that case, I'd recommend a 60gb instead. I've got a 30gb SSD with Windows 7 enterprise 64bit on it, with 3gb left over.

Erm... Also, I'd wait a little bit on the GPU. If you can fit two cards in your case, then I'd suggest two 6870's - much cheaper than a 580, probably with less power consumption and heat, but with a performance of better than a 5970.

Maybe instead of the 950, get the 930, and just overclock. No sense in paying extra for a higher clock when you can easily do it yourself.
