whenever I am watching a video on youtube or just surfing the net.My computer will lag for a couple of seconds and then be back to normal. But sometimes the screen will go black and this will popup " Nvidia display driver kernel mode version258.96 has stopped responding and has recovered". I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling and even went back to the previous version. But my computer still has this problem. What can i do to fix it??

Did you uninstall correctly - the trouble shooting way:

Download and install driver sweeper:
http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

Download the latest VGA driver:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Uninstall your current Nvidia driver and restart and boot to safe mode
go to my computer - click "uninstall or change a program"
find nvidia graphics drivers and control panel and click uninstall

safe mode - press f8 after restarting after post but before windows logo
or - type msconfig into start menu search and hit enter - select boot tab - select safeboot (remember to undo this after all is finished)

In safe mode run driver sweeper - click on Nvidia - click on Clean and restart (make sure to reverse safeboot in msconfig) and boot normally to windows

Install driver you downloaded earlier.

Did you try reinstalling Flash - i had this problem with a radeon card - never fixed the problem, but the comp had other issues so i sent it back...

Anyway try reinstalling flash and check your temps, what nvidia card are you using.
