I have decided to get a new CPU, Motherboard, RAM & PSU but try to retain as much of my old rig as possible. Will get more parts when I have more money.
I need to run 4 VM's on this machine and 1 private game server on 2 out of the 4 VM's. If you have any suggestions on OS's to be used either as main or the VM's then please let me know. :yes:
Have decided on CPU and PSU but need more help as I am still stuck on what Motherbaord and RAM to purchase so any ideas and suggestions would be great. sad.gif
CPU:AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core 3.4GHz 2MB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache 125W AM3 Retail
Motherboard:AMD 880G family I guess(Not Sure So Need Suggestions)
RAM:4Gigs (2x2GB Dual Channel) (haven't decided on what brand and yes I know I should be running about 8GB's but no $$$ for now)
PSU:Antec NEO ECO 520C 520W Continuous Power ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Active PFC Power Supply
HDD:1 x Seagate Barracuda 40BG 7200RPM(Prim) & 1 x Hitachi 250GB 7200RPM(Sec)
Case Cooling:2 x 8cm LED Fans
DVD/Writer: LH-18A1P
Honestly I know the HDD's and DVD Writer is old but need a good few months before I can save enough money for faster SATA HDD's and SDD's. DVD not crucial at this stage so will change later on.
