Hello,
I do believe searching has told me that I should use all 24 pins in a 20 +4 situation, but I'm looking for confirmation. If a MB has the 24 pin connector and the PSU has the 20+4, I should connect the 20 and 4 pin to each other and then use all 24 pins, right? And yes the PSU does have a separate 4 pin (2x2) for the CPU power. Thanks in advance.

Solution
Confirmed. Best bet is to use the full 24-pin connector. Also, current-generation and next-generation boards have an 8-pin CPU connector, so you may want to invest in a new power supply that has that as well.
