Hello,
what is the difference between green,red,blue,black advertised harddrives?

They are names given by Western Digital to a particular range of their hard drives which are built for specific purposes or have special features such as producing less heat or making less noise than a standard hard drive. They generally cost more as well. Specifications are summarised on the following pages:
