AHCI is a subset of RAID, why do you want to change the mode, are you going to boot from a RAID array? If you just change the bios to RAID, you will get a BSOD since the OS is most likely using a Microsoft AHCI driver with the bios set to AHCI mode.
HERE is a MS how to on changing the SATA mode on a Win8 installation. It describes IDE to AHCI, but should be similar for RAID.
