  1. Do you need a Monitor?
  2. no monitor
and need a case and graphic card and everything else
  3. I am in the same boat, just bought Civ 5 and I am having major issues with my ATI video card and memory leaks. I built my current unit only upgrading the Video card and hard drives over 7 years ago, it has been able to handle everything relatively well until now.

I am looking for a motherboard, (I have a huge server tower that can fit most style MB's, currently I am ATX?) and a decent power supply, I want to say 450? I have to check.

I figured it was time for an upgrade, I am running a RAID configuration on two 600 GB Seagate HDs, but it is RAID 0 I think, it is the raid where it stripes data, so I have no backup.

Anyway, not to steal the thread, but any help would be appreciated,

I am thinking new processor, MB, sound and video card, A couple new HDs to provide me with backup to my current RAID configuration or wipe my current units and use them as back up drives, oh and of course RAM!!! I can probably salvage the rest from my current unit, I could care less Intel to AMD.
  4. I hope your problem will get solved asap
  5. @ mtnation, cut and paste what you've posted into a new thread please.

  14. ThirdDarkness, basically you recommended the same thing as me except a bigger case, less one video card and added an SSD...
  15. They're both options. The SLI build will have better gaming performance, while the build with the SSD will feel a little snappier at non-gaming tasks.
  16. yeah, i edited it, LOL Also, the OP said they have no monitor... or it seems that's what they said anyway...
  17. Wow,my bad, I guess I didn't read your specs as closely as I thought Jonpaul. I am sorry about the dupe specs. Many pardons.
  18. For 1,500, get an i5 Quad with a 1156 MB, a decent 500GB drive and any essentials and spend the majority of your money on a good GPU like a GTX580 if gaming is your concern.

No need to apologise, LOL, it was a compliment if anything.

That'd be one 3rd of his budget :O
  21. ^Really?...Cause the GTX580 or ATI5970 Alone cost 1/3 of of his budget...and this talk about the cheapest ones available. If you count other essentials, aka case, ram, mb, cpu, psu, hdd...etc it wil be over 1,000. So wouldn't that be over 2/3rds? And if he has left over money he can add another GPU, get an SSD, get more ram, get a more powerful CPU...etc.
