Visible intermittent delay 24GB RAM

i have kingston KHX1600C9D3K3/12GX (12GB) installed on a ASUS P6T7 WS SuperComputer motherboard and recently i added another 12 GB kit of the same part number KHX1600C9D3K3/12GX , taking the total to 24 GB.

i did a reformatting of all the hard drives and did a complete new installation of the Win 7 64 bit OS.

i however see that when I start moving my mouse to open a window or any app there is a lag two seconds or so , before it comes up fully, the mouse pointer also stops intermittently.

Initially when only one kit of 12GB was installed the operations were far more smoother and seamless.

Why this might be happening?

is the two different kits bought with a years time gap has anything to do with this visible intermittent delay?

Please note that my OS is running from an Intel SSD.

thanks for your reply, i am going to check on all the points which you have mentioned next time i am using this PC, probably tomorrow,

the reason i wanted to go for more memory is that i have in mind to be running at least 4 to 6 Virtual PCs each with Win 7 32 bit,

and further that memory prices have come down so low,

let me know your view on this.
