Graphics cards and PSUs Compatibility Confusion

I've been having some computer issues that have been frustrating me for a while. I have an HP Pavilion p6212f, bought late last year, though I realized too late that it wasn't really suited for computer games (It has an Intel GMA 3100). I've considered upgrading to play some of the newer, more detailed games like Civ 5 and Dawn of Discovery, and I've been thinking of getting an Nvidia GeForce GTS 450, along with a Diablotek DA Series 400-Watt ATX PSU to go with it (mainly because they're pretty cheap).
The problem is I'm not much of a computer expert, so I wanted to know if these two things would work in my system. I wouldn't want to buy something to find it's not even compatible.

  1. Thanks for the reply. So to be sure, if I were to get the graphics card as well as the Antec PSU, they would both work with my p6212f? Are there any other things I should be concerned about, like the fact that the GTS 450 is dual-slot or if I can install the new PSU prior to buying the new graphics card?
