Monitor not working on boot

Hello,
Quick specs: Asus p5nd2 se motherboard. current processor is a celeron 3.06. bought a new processor today, pentium dual core 2.60 ghz. When i put the new processor in, the monitor wouldn't show anything, but everything boots fine. So i put the celeron back in and everythings fine. whats wrong?

With the celeron in, flash the latest bios, could just be cpu support.

Did you verify that the new cpu will work with that motherboard?

I cant actually get Asus's links to work right now but this is their page for your board.
P5ND2 SE and Forum and an offsite CPU support list.

The BIOS updates should be available on Asus's page for your board under the download tab with directions in a readme or something as to how to do it but it wasn't working for me. You can download them from Softpedia but there's no instructions with them.

intel pentium dual core E5300....not really on that list wribbs! :/ in fact, im having difficulty finding ANYTHING with support for the e5300. think im going to take it back to the store...
