Hi, I'm currently on the market for a mid-level gaming laptop and I saw an Acer Aspire 7552G-6436 online that was within my budget.

It's running an AMD Phenom II x4 N950 processor but I can't seem to find much about it. How is it compared to an Intel i5 processor? Any information to gauge the performance of this processor would be awesome. If I buy this laptop it will be my first AMD purchase haha.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 N950 (2.1 Ghz)
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6650M 1GB DDR3
Display: 17.3" HD+ LED LCD 1600x900
RAM: 4GB DDR3 max 8GB
Storage: 250GB 7200rpm HDD
Optical: Dual Layer DVD multi drive

Lightly used for $600 out the door sound like an okay deal?

I have an Acer laptop similar to that which I got for $650 new on Black Friday last year. Core i5 460m @ 2.53 ghz/turbo 2.8 + 4 GB DDR3 + 5650 Radeon + 500 GB HDD

I almost bought the N950 quad version but after doing some research, I opted with the i5, mostly due to the fact that AMD core architecture isn't up to par with Intel, and the fact that the N950 can never go faster than 2 ghz, it doesn't have any sort of turbo like the Intel i series has, thus limiting your speed
