More about cheap build parents
  1. Cheaper case with better airflow and fans included: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066

1TB Spinpoint F3 on sale for $56-$5 with code TAKE5 ( may still work ) and free shipping.

Not sure about that Wintec memory but as long as it has a warranty that is a good combo.

Edit: Oops ok no PSU with the 300 Illusion sorry bout that.
  2. If want back up IGP and/or sell off that 9500GT and recoup some $$

    $299AR
  3. ^ +1 on the HDD,
    http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=HD-HD502HJ&title=Samsung-SpinPoint-F3-HD502HJ-500GB-SATA2-7200rpm-16MB-Hard-Drive

But as for the case I like the Antec NSk better...His parents wont anything more than that case(Is small and compact) and it comes with the EA 380...

    Memory -
I have seen in reviews Wintec performing decent, so no issues using them for such a build...
  4. Thanks for all the responses.

Not sure if they would like the illusion cause cause the led fans. And that apex case is really cheap but I wonder if it is too cheap? The antec comes with a better exhaust fan and seems higher quality overall.

That is a good deal on the 1TB f3 spinpoint but I would prefer to order everything from newegg.

Anyone know if the 500GB f3 spinpoint is faster than the f4 320GB? I don't think they really need more storage than 320GB but if the f3 is faster it might be worth the few dollars extra.

The Biostar A880G+ looks like a good option. I believe both mobo's have core unlocking features (would like to try to unlock 4th core), but is there much a difference besides the integrated graphics between the two?

    Thanks again.
  5. ^ The F4 is pretty fast, but I doubt it would be so significant to the F3, also the 500GB is ~about $5 more...

CASE - That case has pretty good reviews so dont think you would have any issues...

    1. No worries for folks/24-7 rigs the Apec mATX along with Rosewill's R-10X series are really awesome low costs solutions but if gaming is on the table i would look at Cooler Master Elite 341

    2. Form Factor and multi display support via ATI Surround View on the A880G (if that matters)
  7. If you want to go small form-factor here's a sub-$400 build w/ 4GB ram, Core i3/H55. I have the case/PSU and like it very much. You could then sell the video card as suggested. Anyway, just wanted to give an alternative -- maybe something you hadn't thought about.

I was leaning towards switching to this setup but they just removed the 12 dollar instant savings on the A880G+. And that other motherboard is not mATX so I cannot use it with the apex case.

Think they will lower the price on the A880G+ back to where it used to be anytime soon? If not I will probably go with my original build.
  9. Ya prices can get a wee bit volatile so if you intend to reuse that 9500GT it's all good ^^ Another option is the Asrock 880G

  10. The original mobo I chose is 20 dollars cheaper today. So I am gonna go with that. Thanks for all the help.
  11. Ya nice plummeting prices on that mobo couple of hours back ^^
