Ranger/Cleric weapon use problem

Hi All,

Just begun BG2 *AGAIN* after having gone through BG1 (again *AGAIN*).
Anyway, I imported my Ranger 2 / Cleric 8 and started the game. Upon
finding the first set of weapons, I find that I can only use the
staff, and here I am with grand mastery in maces!

I have no idea when this happened, as a previous multiplayer game with
a cleric/ranger was fine. Has anyone else encountered this?

The install of BG2 + TOB is new, with the latest patches, Weimer's
ease of use mod, and Gaider's Unfinished Business (my reason for
replaying)... I think that's it - could be others maybe.

Ouch!

Perhaps you can start a new game and see if a new Ranger/Cleric can wield
mace or not? That could tell us that where the problem is: the save or the
game.

Thanks KC,
Unfortunately, I tried this and the BG2 doesn't let you create a dual
classed character from scratch, only multi or single.
I also tried creating a virgin copy at the start of BG1 adding XP
incrementally with Gatekeeper (should have used the console, D'oh!)
and exporting him, then import into a copy of my game saved in
multiplayer. Same result.
Next step I guess is to try a straight ranger in BG2 and dual him
immediately to cleric. Then have a look at the 2da files to see if
cleric or ranger is snafu'd.
