Eyefinity: do you ne more than one active adaptor for 3 monitor setup?

Yes here it is: another question regarding eyefinity. Im sure you are aware that the forums are already full of questions regarding eyefinity and how un user friendly it is. now i have this setup 1 vga only monitor, one dvi only monitor, and one dvi/hmi. My question: if i purchase this: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Cables/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=330-5521

can i then connect the other two monitor using non display port means? or do you need 3 diplayports for 3 monitors? thanks.

More about eyefinity active adaptor monitor setup
  1. i forgot the add that this monitor that i would be connecting the active adaptor to is a samsung syncmaster px2370. my main concern is that this adaptor is specifically for "dual link dvi'' and i dont know if my monitor supports that. thanks
  2. That adapter costs much more than you need to spend;

    Dual link adapters are only necessary for displays over 1920x1200, and yes, you only need one.
  3. but with 3 monitors combined horizontally, your gonna want more than 1900, no?
  4. The display port adapter will only be used for one of the monitors. It is the native resolution on that monitor that matters.
  5. neat thanks,.
