Laptop Mobo?

I have a couple of Dell and Toshiba laptops. Inspirion 6400 being the main point of interest at the moment. I've built and repaired a number of desktops. Is it possible to build your own laptop? Whether it is or isn't, i'm interested in upgrading the 6400's Mobo and processor. It's cosmetically perfect but the tech isn't aging as well as i'd like.

Any advice is welcome.

Not really as for putting a different mb and cpu in there is not going to happen. You would be better off just buying a new laptop.
