Can I enable ACHI on my motherboard?

Hi
I was wondering whether I was able to enable AHCI on my Gigabyte M52LT-D3?
If so would you be able to tell me how?
Thanks
Sean

  1. Go through each section of the bios one at a time until you find your ide settings. On some boards, it's in the chipset section or is listed in the northbridge or southbridge section (can't remember which). If you want to change to achi mode (instead of native ide) with your current windows installation, you can follow this procedure http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?73355-Change-from-IDE-to-AHCI-after-Installation. AMD boards may not support trim; never quite figured out the limitations of amd achi drivers.

The GIGABYTE GA-M52LT-D3 uses the NVIDIA nForce 520LE chipset so the answer is AHCI is not supported.
