I was wondering which is better? There are some combo deals on newegg.com I was looking at and if I go with the Athlon I could get a GTX 460 1gb, if I go with the Phenom I would get Radeon 5770. Which would be the better option? I am trying to play Battlefield Bad Company 2, Starcraft 2, Command and Conquer 3, Dragon Age, WoW, Mass Effect 2, and Fallout.

Hey,
Don't sell yourself short yourself either way. Screw the combo stuff and buy the best components individually. You will regret trying to save 20 bucks next year, when your Anthlon is holding you back. I personally have crossfired 5770's from a while back, and the 955. If I was to buy today, I might still consider the 955 it's great, but would go with a better card than the 460. I would actually recommend you stretch the budget one more step and go with the 6850 or 70. I wish I had spent the extra 100 bucks myself originally.

I basically went with the PII 955BE + 6850 route. The 955BE is a good performer but I just found it distasteful due to noise, heat and power draw. Maybe better off going the intel route.
