If Windows cannot detect the drive, there is no Windows software that will detect it either.

Check to see if it is detected by the BIOS. If it isn't, investigate why (cables, connections etc).

If it's detected in the BIOS but not in Windows, the drive may simply have failed and is fit only for the scrap yard.
