Im sure this has been asked many times before, but i cant find a definitive yes/no answer. Could my AM3 motherboard work with an AM3+ bulldozer processor with a bios update? If yes, what is the easiest way to update the bios? Would i need to get faster memory i curently have 8gb of ddr3 1333. I even called asus support and they wouldnt give me a yes/no answer.

Thanks

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A89GTD_PROUSB3/#download

download the 2011.05.10 update

Conditions:
-The board needs to have a chipset from the 8xx-series
-Some bulldozer features won't work.

(This is dangerous when you don't know what to do it can damage your system permanently make sure you ask someone that really know how to flash a BIOS, I will not held responsible in case something happen to your system )

still I don't really know if an am3+ will work on am3 board.

ya know, i have the same board with the 1090t in it, I like you, was going to install the x8 with the updated bios. not having the x8 yet i update it anyway...the only downside was. i was running 16gb of cosair vengence memory at 1600mhz without a hitch..however, after the update I got the BSD everytime windows tried to load (7,64bit)..dropped the memory down to 1333mhz and all was good....i did decide the exta 2 cores wasnt worth the price so back to the original bios and 1600mhz....FYI
