I recently purchased a system for video editing and it is working really well except for when I am importing video. For some reason there is lag and distortion. It is not coming from the DVD player becasue my preview monitor looks great but the computer screen is showing delay and distortion. And when I play back the footage that I have imported it is distorted.

I am using the Ultra 7 PORT Fire Wire / USB 2.0 PCI Card

I am wondering if it is the card or do I need a more high end firewire cable.

Not a techie so please help!

Core i5/3.20GHz DualCore CPU
2 x 2GB DDR31333 RAM
nVidia 9800GT VGA/DVI adapter
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
1 x 160GB SATA System Drive
4 x 1TB SATA (RAID10,
2TB usable) Video Drive – approx. 170 hours.
DVDRW
22X
Wireless Laser Keyboard/Mouse
2 x 19” 1920x1080 LCD Monitors
