hi guys i'm looking to build a $600 gaming computer. This will be my first home built computer. I don't know what I'm looking for- I have practically no knowledge of hardware in computers.
With that being said, I'm hoping you guys can give me some examples of built computers you guys think are best for a $600 budget. I was going to wait until black friday but my friend said NewEgg kept their deals all month long (is this true?) and black friday wouldn't give me a better deal. Mostly i'm getting this computer for some school work and to be able to play WoW. 30-40 fps with slightly better than minimum settings is fine by me but anything more is a plus. I have very high speed internet and am just planning on using ethernet. I receive windows 7 for free and already have mouse and keyboard that uses USB slots.
I'm also planning on using a HD TV for a monitor and just getting cables (i think AMD male-male?) but I've heard this might not work well.
Any advice, comments, questions are well appreciated. Thank you for your time =)

I wasn't sure if you needed an OS.

Athlon II X4 640 + MSI 870A-G54 $173 (with rebate)

Antec 300 Illusion + BP550W $105

Mushkin 4GB 1333MHz $62

HIS HD 5770 1GB $110 (with rebate)

Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB $70

ASUS DVD Burner $20
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204

Total: $540

Note there is no OS included.

Theres something to look at, if you don't need the OS and want to spend all that $600 you could get a Phenom II 955 for $55 more though its not really required.

Yes reaper please explain your reasoning.

I have not set this build up for CF as it doesn't seem necessary. You can debate whether CF is needed and affordable though not that the PSU is not big enough for the current config. 5770s can be run on a 350W.

For what? A quality 550w unit is plenty to even Crossfire 2 x HD5770s.

OS=Operating system. Or Windows. You would want Windows 7 64 bit. It is about $100.
Yes that is a good build and all parts will work fine with each other.
