Any suggestions for saving money here, I have a heatsink to use on the chip so that's not included and have not included the OS, or peripherals.

Use of the computer will be yelling at it, staring at it with head tilted slightly sideways in confusion, providing a reason to call me asking "how do I..." all too often, and seriously though, just browsing the web and storing family photos (no, they don't edit photos let alone using photoshop).

Considering what they are doing (or not), I would suggest a dual-core CPU. SInce you have a HSF you could go with an OEM chip and save a few dollars. The other stuff looks fine. Check this one out ($43.99 with free shipping):

You could really just get a Rana X3 and that 770 has no IGP so perhaps a low cost 785/880g on SB710?

This is a good catch. Here is a slightly more expensive mobo with a "decent" integrated GPU (you are still cheaper overall if you go with the 2-core proc).

I'm going for four cores (by buying x3 and just hope the 4th unlocks) so that its future proofed. I overlooked graphics so I'll keep poking around for a diff mobo, maybe colgeek's.

Eh if u are hitting an X4 there are no more cores to be unlocked with current AM3 quads chips @@ I would also suggest a $5 top up and hit an 880G Asrock

760G = Radeon 3000, no Universal Video Decoder (UVD) and may come back to haunt you ^^
880G = HD 4250 integrated

I like that 880g, i hate to use a company unfamiliar to me, but hopefully it works out fine. Thanks, I think that mobo will provide my final build, thanks for the input guys/gals (do girls use this forum).

You may see some savings, but I doubt it will be a huge difference.
