R: is the source on both the Desktop and the Server systems and I have set the External Drive to V: with Disk Management.
During the copy process from the system to the external drive on both the USB 3 and USB 2 ports I am seeing two errors after a few minutes of copying. This occurs on both the Server and Desktop systems. I have 2 identical Nexstar housings and this is happening with both cases.
2013/03/02 09:49:59 ERROR 3 (0x00000003) Copying File R:\Video_BU\Saved TV\TVShow\Show_Title01.dvr-ms
The system cannot find the path specified.
2013/03/02 09:52:37 ERROR 21 (0x00000015) Copying File R:\Video_BU\Saved TV\TVShow\Show_Title02.dvr-ms
The device is not ready.
When running on my Windows 7 you constantly hear the USB beep connecting and disconnecting.
To test furth, I installed this 3TB HDD into the Server 2008R2 system and connected it to an available ATA Port, there are no errors and it work perfectly. The Motherboard in the server is a ASUS P6X58D-E with an Intel i-7 and 12GB of RAM.
I put the 2TB drive back in the case and all is fine so this is specific to the 3TB drive. Vantec's documentation states that this product is compatible with a 3TB drive so at this time I am not sure what the issue is.
Am I missing a driver to accommodate the external usage? Windows installed the device automatically when it was connected.
