Hi,

I've ran out of space on my 3 current HDDs and need a new one. This drive will mainly be for recording on, so needs to be quick. I can't afford a massive SSD so I'm gonna have to make do with a mechanical. I was going to get a WD Caviar Black 1TB but I stumbled across the Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB 6GB/S which is twice the size and from what I can make out, the same speed, as well as being pretty much the same price. Will this be as good as the Caviar Black?

cheers

Based on my experience, WD hard drives are more reliable than Seagate ones and I now avoid buying Seagate drives altogether.

If you want more than 1TB capacity, stick with WD.
