I 7's run on triple channel ram so get 3 x 2GB sticks and look at the 6870, it performs on par with the 5870, is a good bit cheaper and offers more feature (5 monitor support, 3d etc...)

The 1200 is last year's model .... the DF-85 replaces it w/ huge improvements.

Putting anything other than the CP-850 in the 1200 or DF is crazy. Nothing in its price range can touch it except, when on sale, the XFX Black Edition 850. Plus the CP-850 is a CPX form factor which the 1200 and DF cases are specifically built to accommodate. The CPX (larger) form factor makes it much quieter.

Coolers - read this
http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=447&Itemid=62&limit=1&limitstart=15

RAM - you need 3 sticks and your choice is CAS 9 ... $2500 rigs deserve CAS 6

Audio - Check out the sound on the Asus hi end boards first hand before trying a sound card. Most are pleasantly surprised.

Storage - Ya want speed, get a SSD

I don't see the Blue Ray Burner .... media just too expensive to be practical. Suggest Blue Ray Reader / DVD Burner combo

What's below is a much better build with quite a few extras (I had to work hard to spend ya $2600 :) . You will be able to OC the hell out of it, while keeping extremely cool temps. the dust filters will keep the inside cool and you can clean then in 8 seconds (1200 takes 8 minutes)

Here's ya OC template. I'd start out w/ a BCLK of 160 and go from there.

That's $2,395 .... add in the sound card which I don't think ya'll need and ya still cheaper than original build compared with ya got a:

Better Case w/ Hot Swap 2.5" SATA bay, SATA backplanes (remove and replace HD's and SSD's w/o messing w/ power and data cables....slide out / slide in and done ....dust filters that come out in 2 secs. The 5.25" drive doors however were a dumb idea....I don't need no steenkin doors !

Better / Quieter PSU, ...... better MoBo .... control it from your i-Phone !

Better cooling solution .... I woulda recommended the Venomous X-RT if I could figured out a matching fan. But the mega is top notch.

Better RAM which is only 40mm tall so it won't give ya fit issues w/ ya CPU cooler

Better GFX solution, factory overclocked. Better Storage solution, SSD beats 10k drives. Better OS, Better Monitor.

Ya even got a new KB / Mouse combo which if ya don't need will save ya $210

Looks very nice! Again I dont feel like you need the Rampage board but still it's a great quality board. Also if you could change that older WD HDD with a newer Seagate 1tb or 500gb (7200.12RPM) or a Samsung Snipoint F1 1tb drives they use newer platers and are slightly faster. Again great choice!

How is this card?
One of the reviews:
Windows 7 take a pass

Pros: This card works great with xp and vista.

Cons: Does not connect to windows 7 64 bit system.

Other Thoughts: Works great with my XP and Vista machine. But it treated my Windows 7 machine like a jilted lover left on a dimly lit street corner in the wee morning hours of a rainy night with wet cigar wafting from her clothes. It just did not have much to say and wise people will just walk on by. Just take a pass on this one as you will have a windows 7 machine soon.
