Difference between dual core and i3 processor

Hello,
looking at purchasing a macbook pro 13 inch. It has the intel dual core processor. It appears to be sufficient for my needs but is that technology to old?

  1. The Macbook Pro 13" has a Core 2 Duo processor. It is a couple generations old, but is most likely more than sufficient for everyday laptop use. You have to step up to the 15" to get the newer (heheh, almost 1 generation old) Core i5 processor.

  2. If all you do is surf, watch videos, type documents, listen to music, etc

Then yes, it's most likely "fast enough" for you.
